Arch Linux 2020.10.01 VM Images for VirtualBox and VMware

Introduction

Arch Linux is an open-source Linux distribution that follows five principles: simplicity, modernity, pragmatism, user centrality, and versatility.

Arch Linux uses Pacman, a package manager written specifically for Arch Linux. This is used to install, remove, and update software packages. It follows rolling release model which means there are no majaor releases and installation images are released every month.

The VirtualBox and VMware images are created in such a way that they are less in size but contains all the standard packages required for instant run.

Both VirtualBox and VMware support OVA & OVF image formats which means you can use VirtualBox image on VMware and vice versa.

While importing a VMware image in VirtualBox, ensure operating system type is Linux and version is Arch Linux (64bit). Also, video memory should be a minimum of 128MB and VMSVGA be a graphics controller.
